Last week I provided some background on the concept behind freebie trading in a post titled Earn Money with Freebie Trading – Part I. Check it out if you haven’t already or if you need a refresher. Today I’d like to dig a little deeper and tell you about the role of the freebie trader and the two methods they use to earn money and prizes. That post last week ended with a description of freebie sites and how their approach to affiliate marketing is different than traditional methods. Where most affiliate marketers would promote the affiliates products, freebie sites actually promote the prizes they will provide if you refer others to complete offers for their affiliates.
In the freebie trading world, you’ll hear reference to method 1 and method 2 frequently. These are the two methods freebie traders use to earn cash and prizes. You start out with method 1and eventually you can move on to method 2. I’m going to do things a little differently and explain the two methods in a backwards manor. I think this will make it a little easier to understand what freebie trading is.
Method 2: Let’s forget about how we got to Method 2 for the time being (we’ll get to that later). The important thing is that we are now members of one or more freebie sites and we are ready to start using Method 2. As I mentioned before, the way the freebie sites operate is to pay site members bonuses or commissions (how ever you want to look at it) for referring others to complete offers. So now that we’re members of the site, we want to recruit referrals to complete these offers so we can earn our commission. Let’s say we’ll receive $20 for referring someone who completes the required offers. How do we convince this person to sign up as our referral and complete those offers? Well, what if we offer them half of our reward? This is win-win-win. The referral is happy because he gets $10 from us for completing the offers. We’re happy because we earned our $10. Our family and friends are even happy because they didn’t get pestered to become our referrals. This can be repeated over and over again as long as you can find people wanting to be paid for completing offers. This brings me to method 1.
Method 1: I promised I’d explain how we got to method 2… here it is. we got to method 2 by signing up at the freebie site and completing the required offers. After you complete the offers you are considered a member and able to begin recruiting referrals as described in method 2. But since we have to sign up and complete offers in order to reach method 2, why not sign up as a referral under someone already using method 2? This way we will receive some compensation? This is how method 1 works. Sign up at freebie sites as a referral in exchange for part of the referees commission. There are many many of these freebie sites in existence. A freebie trader can sign up for several of these sites before moving on to method 2 and recruiting referrals for each.
So there you have it. The two methods for earning money with freebie trading. You’re probably still wondering how the term “Freebie Trading” fits into this. Freebie Trading simply refers to the exchanges between people using Method 1 and those using Method 2. There are two main types of transactions that a freebie trader will engage in…
- Method 2 traders will pay cash for method 1 users to become a referral for them
- If two traders are each members of different freebie sites, they could each sign up as referrals for each other. In this case each trader would receive their entire commission and each would have a new site on which to recruit their own referrals.
Freebie trading typically uses forums as a means for locating other traders. Newbies interested in getting started in freebie trading can come to these forums to connect with other traders already using method two. There are several of these forums and most offer
Conclusion
I hope you enjoyed this introduction to freebie trading. I’ve left out most of the freebie trading terminology and other specific details. When I dig deeper into it I’ll be sure to post some more detailed information and reviews.
I find this to be a really interesting way of extending the benefits of affiliate marketing. As more and more people become involved with freebie trading the more competition there will be for attracting referrals. The pool of potential referrals shrinks as more and more people get involved with freebie trading and move on two method 2. That said, it’s a big world out there with no shortage of people looking to make money online. Creation of new freebie sites can also help to keep things going by providing method 2 users an opportunity to drop down to method 1 again in order to gain the new site and recruit referrals for it. It will be interesting to see just how long this model will be able to sustain itself. Never the less, I’m certainly going to give it a try because it seems fun and I think there’s potential for it to stick around for a while to come. I’ll let you know when I get started and keep you informed on my progress and success.
