Success Barriers

Never Enough Time?

Time. It’s hard to come by. I’ve spent years putting off so many ideas because I just didn’t have enough time. Until recently. I’ve come to the realization that the phrase “I don’t have enough time” is just an excuse. When you say you don’t have enough time for something, what you really mean is it’s not a priority.

The truth is, we all have the same amount of time. 24 hours a day is pretty much standard last I checked. The difference is what we do with that time. Some of us have more commitments than others, but as long as we understand where our priorities lie, we can ensure our time is focused on priority activities.

Understanding this is a huge game changer for me.  Just thinking in these terms has put my shortage of time into perspective. Now when I want to do something with my time, I make sure that I don’t waste a single precious minute doing anything that isn’t of higher priority. Looking back, It’s funny that in the “old” days I always had time to watch a few hours of TV and surf the net each day, but didn’t have time to focus on making my dreams a reality. It’s only been a couple weeks since I had this epiphany, and It’s already making a huge difference.

This shift in mindset, has prompted me to start this blog. I’ve started to take action, and in doing so, actually opened up the door to allowing myself to succeed. I haven’t really been at this long enough to see results, but I truly feel that things are starting to take off for me. Just the fact that I’m actually working towards something is a huge step in the right direction.

Are you putting something off because you don’t have time? Are you sure you don’t have time or are you just not making it a priority? What ever it is you think you don’t have time for, there is probably something you can do to free up some minutes or hours. Why not prioritize your current activities to see if there’s any time suckers in there that can be eliminated? Killing time wasters has made all the difference for me and I encourage you to do the same.
