Online Survey Experiment Update

Last week I announced that I would be conducting an experiment on the effectiveness of online surveys. I actually started this experiment back on August 19th which will make tomorrow two weeks. So far I can confirm that it does seem to be possible to make money by performing online surveys. However, since I don’t have any spendable cash in my pocket right now, I won’t guarantee that just yet.

The Experiment…

I’ve signed up at three online survey websites which will be used to evaluate the income potential of completing surveys. The plan is to complete every survey presented to me for a period of one month. At the  the end of the month I will then request a payment from all three sites and see if it is possible to actually receive some spendable cash. I plan to provide some analysis including graphs and such to illustrate the feasibility of earning money from completing surveys online. I’ll find out the effective hourly rate for completing surveys, the differences between the three survey sites and hopefully provide some tips on how to get the most out of your time completing surveys for each site.

The survey sites I am signed up for are as follows.

  • Surveylion
  • Opinionoutpost
  • Greenfield Online

Within the next two weeks leading up to the experiment results, I will create the first part of a review for each of the three sites listed above. I’ll explain the site, how it works and what benefits/drawbacks are associated with it. This information will all be based on info from the websites. After the end of the one month experiment I will post part two of the reviews to add my own personal experiences and opinions of each site.

So far I have received and completed surveys from each of the websites above. Each website is also currently reporting that I have money available in my account and that I can request a payment at any time. At the end of the month I’ll tell you the size of each payment, and follow up with whether or not I actually received the payment.
