Quest for Quiescence

You might be wondering what my intentions are for writing this blog. Well, I figure I might as well clear this question up right away. My ultimate goal is to  provide an ideal lifestyle for myself and my family without the need to actively pursue the finances necessary. I call this quiescence, and my hope is that this blog will be the vehicle that gets me to that goal sooner. Now, I don’t plan for this blog to generate the income directly, but rather to help indirectly in the following ways…

1. To Improve My Writing Skills – My writing skills suck. I’m hoping I can improve my writing skills by regularly adding content to this blog. Improving my writing skills will provide one more skill that can help me toward my goals.
2. To Provide a Place to Document Successes and Failures – The main thing I want to do with this blog is to document alternative income strategies. I want to write down what works, what doesn’t, and why. This will force me to be more organized rather than bouncing around from one thing to the next. Having this information documented will also help to reproduce success. For me and anyone else reading the blog.
3. To Provide Motivation – By documenting all of my experiences here, I will be able to measure my performance and track progress towards my goals. I expect that this will motivate me to keep going.
4. To Learn From Others – I often hear from other bloggers about how they meet so many people by blogging. I really hope that through writing this blog I can meet like minded people to bounce ideas off of and learn from. I would like this blog to be an interactive place where we can learn from each other
5. To Create Accountability – by putting my goals and progress up on the internet for all to see, I expect to feel a sense of accountability to the people who might read my blog. Once it’s out there, I will have a duty to follow up and keep progressing towards my goals.

Why Should You Care?

While I definitely hope that this blog helps me to achieve my goal of reaching Quiescence, another huge part of why I’m writing this blog is to help others. I will share my experiences so that you can benefit from this blog as much as I. I will strive to make this blog a rich resource for those with similar aspirations to my own. If there’s anything I can do for you, perhaps research an alternative income idea you have, feel free to contact.
